Pictured is 127 North Midler Avenue. Built in 1901, the home was constructed by LeRoy Heise. LeRoy lived here with his wife, Rose and their son, LeRoy Junior. Rose was born in Fort Plain and moved to Syracuse the same year the home was built. When she passed away in 1968 at the age of 94, her address was the same. The 67 years she spent in Syracuse, were spent here, in the house her husband built. Upon her death, the home became the property of her son, LeRoy Junior. LeRoy Junior owned his own printing business and worked for General Electric for over 25 years. He was a private pilot who had met his wife, Mona, when she moved in nearby. LeRoy Junior was also a veteran of the United States Army, serving four years during World War II. He spent the end of his life in Ohio, where he passed away at the age of 96 in 2001.
